Toni Izquierdo trained at the School of Catering in Girona in 1975 and 76. He continued his training at the School of Catering and Tourism in Madrid in 1977 and 78. Having finished his studies, he did a work stay in the Basque Country for six months in various renowned restaurants, specialising in traditional cuisine as well as star cuisine. He also did work stays at several restaurants in France. He worked for two years as a cookery teacher at the School of Catering and Tourism in Sant Pol de Mar. He has been running Restaurant Mas dels Arcs with his wife Anna Maria, since 1980. He is the president of the Cuina de l’Empordanet and of the restaurants of Palamós.
Having learnt at Restaurant Mas dels Arcs, she attended several courses of oenology and sommelier, cheeses, oils, etc. She is the owner of the establishment, along with her husband, Toni Izquierdo. Their son, Xavi Izquierdo, collaborates with various restaurant tasks to help his parents.
