On Friday, 12th of February 2016, the fourth edition of the “Sopars Maridats” gastronomy campaign started in the restaurants belonging to the Cuina de l’Empordanet and the Cuina del Vent gastronomy collectives and the participating wine bodegas of the DO Empordà.
Every Friday from 12th of February to 10th of June (apart from Good Friday), these special evening meals pairing good food and wine were offered, consisting of menus put together by a chef and a sommelier working together to offer the best combination between the dishes and the wines on the menu.
There were 30 evening meals in all and prices ranged from €35 to €55 (including VAT). Bookings could be made by calling each restaurant directly.
The campaign received the support of the Catalan Consortium of Commerce, Handicraft and Fashion of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Catalan Tourism Agency and the Catalan Institute of Vines and Wine.
